Lots of folks call this form a yunomi, after the Japanese tea cup. It’s designed with a trimmed foot, so when your tea is very hot you hold the cup by the rim and foot. After it cools slightly, you can warm your hand, wrapping it around the cup. I call these skirted cups because I think of decorating my pots like dressing them up! Couture pottery!
